Back to School

schoolThis is a landmark year in my household. I’m officially ending my 22-year run as a parental participant in the annual back-to-school ritual. No more fighting for cart space in the school supply aisle, no more pleading for the kids to go through last years’ clothes and pass them on to the next sibling, and no more suppressed tears on the first day of school until after the bus pulled away.  It’s bittersweet, to say the least.

Thankfully, I’m going to celebrate this milestone by participating in my own kind of back-to-school activity – by returning to the classroom to teach the ResultsPlus Essential Elements class this week in the Chicago area. I can’t think of a more timely solution or a better way to redirect my energy.

I’m so excited to meet some of our customers face-to-face and to share in this exchange of knowledge and ideas - it’s always a tremendous experience. Foremost, it’s an opportunity for our customers to learn about all the ways that ResultsPlus can help them be more efficient and productive. But the real treasure is the amazing synergy that happens when people start asking questions, answering other people’s questions, and sharing ideas, expert-to-expert and peer-to-peer.

I’m eager to witness the dynamics of the group of ‘students’ as they share in this learning experience over three days. As I envision that big yellow school bus pulling away from my own house, it’s the best remedy I could ask for.
