This week, the country celebrated volunteers during the 41st annual National Volunteer Week. Established by Points of Light in 1974, National Volunteer Week is comprised of seven days to inspire, recognize, show gratitude for and encourage volunteers.
Volunteer Week is a great opportunity to show our appreciation for volunteers, and we are so thankful for all of those who help make our society a better place to live. That said, we encourage every week to be "Volunteer Week." As we strive to find creative ways to give back to our communities throughout the year, we should also show gratitude for the people who go out relentlessly to fight for equality, cure diseases, help the poor, advocate for those who can't advocate for themselves and who give themselves to the service of others... Every day!
Thank you, volunteers! This week and every week!
