In case you haven’t seen an announcement, Microsoft is ending support for its Windows Server 2003 program this week:
Microsoft Alert: Support will end July 14, 2015 for Windows Server 2003
Businesses using Windows Server 2003 may be at risk starting on July 14th 2015. End-of-support means that Microsoft will no longer issue technical support or security updates for this product. Businesses running Windows Server 2003 past July 14 may be exposed to risks which may affect the safety of your daily business applications, including ResultsPlus. If you’re lucky enough to have internal IT staff, you probably don’t need to worry too much about this. They will likely be aware and will already have upgraded or are planning to, but it might not hurt to confirm with them.We know, however, that there are customers who, in addition to their responsibilities to raise important funds
for their organizational missions, also have some responsibility for overseeing IT-related issues. Even if your only action is to call in an outside IT consultant, this news may be of interest to you.
Keeping up with the evolving versions of hardware and software can be a daunting task. ResultsPlus and our company, Metafile Information Systems, follow the developmental progression of the products with which we affiliate. In other words, as the makers of supported applications discontinue support for a particular product or version, we no longer support them for use with our applications.
There are a number of places you can see a list of the supported versions of ResultsPlus and the products supported for use with ResultsPlus.
- The PDF document called ‘Installing ResultsPlus: A Guide for IT Personnel’ contains a list of requirements, which also details the supported versions of related products. This document is available when you first download the setup file to install ResultsPlus. It can also be found in the user assistance area inside your ResultsPlus application. Search on keyword ‘requirements.’
- The Discontinued Support Notice for older ResultsPlus versions lists versions that have recently been discontinued or are about to be. The document can be accessed through the ResultsPlus support website. Login at support.metafile.com/?type=rp
- Contact the ResultsPlus support line at 1-800-222-4096 or firstname.lastname@example.org to obtain the latest version of the ‘Requirements RP 11.5’ PDF document. This may be your best option if the dates at the bottom of the above-listed documents are more than one year in the past.
