Our local community is observing National Philanthropy Day on Thursday, Nov. 6. The Southern Minnesota Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals has organized and promoted a gathering of donors, nonprofits and beneficiaries to share, learn and celebrate. It’s been happening for more than 10 years, but this year may be the best yet. It will feature Jerold Panas, a nationally-recognized (and internationally-known) expert in the field of philanthropy, as the keynote speaker.
Consultant, author and frequent speaker, Jerold Panas has been in the field of fundraising for more than 40 years. He has written 17 books, including ASKING, one of the largest selling books on fundraising published to date. He’ll begin the day by presenting a workshop for development professionals, and then will present the keynote speech at the awards luncheon as well.
And speaking of the luncheon, there will be a number of inspiring people and organizations recognized as outstanding examples of philanthropy in action. Awards will be presented for Outstanding Philanthropist, Volunteer Fundraiser, Youth in Philanthropy and Philanthropic Organization. What an awesome display of humanity and benevolence!
Metafile has been a sponsor of this impressive event for the past 10 years. We can’t think of a better way to support our local philanthropic community and we’re proud to be a part of the celebration.
